Managing your subscription

Your subscription is handled on the Billing page, with payments processed by Stripe. Only the workspace owner can subscribe or manage billing. Everyone else can open the page and see the current plan, but the plan buttons are disabled for them, with a note that only the workspace owner can change plans.

Subscribing

  1. Open Billing in the sidebar.
  2. Under Plans, pick annual or monthly billing with the toggle.
  3. Click the button under the plan you want, for example Choose Pro.
  4. Complete checkout on Stripe's page. Stripe then returns you to Overdesk.

Checkout bills one seat for each person in your workspace, with a minimum of 3. See Seats.

Your current plan

The Current plan panel at the top of the Billing page names your plan and, once you are subscribed, shows your next billing date. Beneath it, the same panel shows your workspace's AI usage on your Anthropic key; Usage explains those figures.

Payment details and invoices

Once you are on a paid plan, the owner sees a Manage billing button in the Current plan panel. It opens Stripe's billing portal, where you manage your payment method and your subscription, then brings you back to Overdesk.

Changing plan

While you are subscribed, you change plans by email rather than with the plan buttons on the Billing page. To move to a different plan, or between monthly and annual billing, the owner emails hello@overdesk.io and we make the switch on your existing subscription, so you keep one subscription and one bill.

If a payment fails

A failed payment does not lock your workspace. Stripe marks the subscription as past due and your plan keeps working while the payment is retried. Update your payment method through Manage billing to settle it.

If the subscription is canceled after failed payments, the workspace locks as described below.

When a subscription ends

When a paid subscription ends, whether you cancel it or it is canceled after failed payments, the workspace locks straight away, just as it does at the end of a trial. Ending the subscription deletes nothing. The owner can choose a plan again from the Billing page, and the workspace unlocks as soon as checkout completes. See When a trial ends for what a locked workspace can and cannot do.

Deleting the workspace also cancels billing. See Privacy and data.
