Overview
Reports turn your help desk's numbers into something a support lead can read in a minute. Overdesk writes a weekly summary every Monday without being asked, and on the trial, Pro and Scale a morning briefing every day too. Any report your plan includes can be generated on demand or put on a schedule.
Each report pairs the numbers with a short written read of what they mean, so the Monday meeting starts from the same page.
Where reports live
Open Reports in the sidebar. The report cards are grouped under Daily, Weekly and Monthly. The group tells you how much history a report reads, not how often you may run it: any report can go on any schedule.
Below the cards, Recent reports lists every report your workspace has produced, newest first. Pick a type from the list above the table to see only that report, and open any row to read it in full. For what each report covers, see Report types.
Generate a report
- Open Reports.
- On the report's card, click Generate report.
- The report appears in Recent reports, usually within a minute.
Agents, admins and the owner can generate reports. Viewers can read every report. If the same report is already being generated, Overdesk says so and you get that run's result.
Where a report goes
Every report, scheduled or generated by hand, lands in Recent reports. It is also sent to each notification destination your workspace has switched on for reports: a Slack channel, a ClickUp Chat channel or an email address. See Notifications.
The Status column shows how that delivery went: Sent, Sent to some or Delivery failed. A failed delivery also raises an alert naming the destination that could not receive it.
Reading, downloading and deleting
A report opens on its own page. Download saves it as a Markdown file, and Print gives you a printable copy.
Only the owner can delete a report. Deleting removes it for the whole team, and any link to it already sent to Slack or email stops working. You can always generate the report again.
What reports read
Reports cover every help desk your workspace has connected. To narrow them to one Help Scout or FreeScout mailbox, set Default mailbox ID in Settings → General. For Zendesk, Default view ID (Zendesk only) narrows them to one saved view.
"Today" and "yesterday" follow your workspace time zone. The written commentary runs on your own Anthropic API key, the same key drafting uses.
Plans and how long reports are kept
On Assist, the Weekly summary and the Weekly insights email are included. Trial, Pro and Scale include every report.
| Plan | Reports are kept for |
|---|---|
| Trial | 90 days |
| Assist | 90 days |
| Pro | 365 days |
| Scale | No limit |
Finished analyses are kept alongside reports and follow the same limits. See Plans and pricing.
