WooCommerce ​

Connect WooCommerce and a draft can cite the customer's real orders, so a question about a purchase gets answered instead of asked back. Overdesk only reads from your store. It never changes an order, a refund or a customer record.

What a draft can cite ​

  • The customer's name, found by the address they wrote in from.
  • Their most recent orders, up to 10: what was bought, what it cost, where each order stands, and anything refunded.
  • How many orders they have placed and what they have spent with you, when Overdesk can see their whole history.

Lookups find customers who have an account in your store. An order placed at guest checkout has no customer account behind it, so drafts cannot cite it.

Connect with one click ​

  1. In Overdesk, open Integrations and choose WooCommerce.
  2. Enter your store's address in Store address. It must start with https, and if WordPress lives in a subfolder, include it.
  3. Click Connect. Your store opens, and WooCommerce asks you to approve read access for Overdesk. You need to be signed in to WordPress as an administrator.
  4. Approve it. Your store sends the keys to Overdesk itself, so there is nothing to copy, and you land back on the WooCommerce page in Overdesk.

If your store approved but Overdesk could not read from it, the page tells you. The usual cause is a host that blocks the WooCommerce REST API. Check that it is reachable, or add a key pair by hand.

Add a key pair by hand ​

If the approval screen does not load, click Add a key pair by hand.

  1. In WordPress, go to WooCommerce, then Settings, then Advanced, then REST API, and add a key with Read permission. WooCommerce shows the consumer secret only once, so copy both halves before you leave that screen.
  2. In Overdesk, enter Store address, Consumer key and Consumer secret, and click Connect.

Either way, your store has to be reachable over https from the internet, because Overdesk reads it each time a draft is written.
